The third grade went on a virtual field trip with the Texas Tech Cultural Center and learned how different cultures celebrate light. They visited Germany and learned about Laternefest and had a parade. They visited India and learned of the celebration of Diwali. Also, they visited Scotland and learned Scottish Yuletide Traditions. Lastly, they listened to a tradition song Auld Lang Syne played at New Year’s Eve with bag pipes.

Bronco Nation, As of this morning, we have received notifications that two individuals have tested positive for COVID-19. These individuals will be quarantined according to their provider’s guidelines and instructions. Per our protocols, all areas that these individuals have come into contact with have been de-contaminated for the safety of all of our students and faculty. Congratulations to our FFA Tractor tech team who improved and made a strong showing at their last competition before Area in January. This was a bigger and more competitive contest than the first one and they handled the pressure well! Bangs Tractor Tech Contest 12/9/20: 28th - Josiah Rodriguez - great debut! 49th - Brady Parker 68th - Nyomi Alvarado 25th - Niko Castaneda - up 9 spots! 31st - Morgan Hurst - up 6 spots! Team - 6th overall and 1st in Area 2

Congratulations to the FFA Tractor Tech team. In their first contest they showed a strong start and a great foundation to build from. They competed well among established teams in a tight race. Friday 12-11-20. Both JV games have been cancelled against Silverton. Varsity girls will start at 6pm varsity boys 7:30pm.

Yesterday afternoon, Mrs. Rance's Family & Community Services class and Meadow FCCLA members presented a Mental Health Summit for Meadow High School students. Students participated in various sessions and listened to presentations about mental health, and effects of depression, anxiety, and stress on the brain. In addition, students received a list of apps and resources for managing stress and anxiety from our guest speaker, Dr. Judy Jarrett, LPC. This event will also be the topic of Krissy Gonzales and Kaylee Morin's STAR Event this year: National Programs in Action: Stand Up. In the coming months, they will be creating a presentation about the class's experience of planning and implementing this event and will present it on behalf of the class at the region competition in February. Wish them luck!

Information for games at Aspermont: -guest capacity is 60 -we will clear the gym between the JV boys and Varsity girls games. This will allow for more fans to attend. -fans will not be allowed in the gym without a voucher -All administration, coaches, cheerleaders and players will be admitted without a voucher. -we ask that all visitors wear masks upon entry and when not seated -we ask that all practice social distancing as best as possible -there is a QR code to self screen prior to entry if you have access to a smartphone -Admission into the Varsity games will be open after the gym has been completely cleared from the JV games. -all fans will need to sit on the appropriate side (visitor and home)
